  Supervising Translation of Chestnut's Book

Hi, Dear colleagues and friends:

We are happy to make an announcement on behalf of Weike regarding to supervising translation of the Chestnut’s book. Please see the following information from him.

Dear Colleagues:

Dr. Mingjun Xu, Chief of Anesthesia at Beijing Maternal Fetal Hospital, has entered a bid to People's Health Publishing Co. of China to translate Chestnut's Obstetric Anesthesia into Chinese. Many of you who did similar work with Fleischer's book know this may be a time-consuming and tedious (and not so rewarding) kind of work. What motivates us is our desire to help our Chinese colleagues benefit from knowledge in the book, not relying on Chinese copycat textbooks from generations ago. Women in China will appreciate our work.

With this good intention in mind, I would like to see how many of us would like to participate. Knowing most of us are not experts in entering Chinese into computers, but can read Chinese well, I have told Dr. Xu that we (practicing in US) only want to supervise and check for errors on what has already been translated by our Chinese colleagues - we do NOT do text entering (unless an individual desires otherwise). Based on our previous experience, however, some typing will be required.

The book has 56 chapters, 1177 pages - that's 20 pages per chapter including (no-need-to-translate) references. If I can get enough heads to do one chapter per person, this is very doable. If someone can do more than one chapter, there are enough chapters to go around.
