The First Message From Chairs Of 2006 Annual CASA Meeting In Chicago

Dear CASA Members,

As a host, we welcome you to come to Chicago and go to the ASA annual meeting and our CASA annual meeting in the middle of Oct 2006. This is the first message regarding our 2006 Annual CASA Meeting in Chicago.

There are a list of things we would like to message out.
First of all, our meeting will be hold in the downtown Chicago in the evening of Sunday, Oct 15, 2006. We still have a lot of details to work on and will send out as soon as all the issues being taken care of.
Meanwhile, please put this event on your schedule and save the date. We are looking for up to 150 people here. You are encouraged to pass this message to all Chinese American Anesthesiologists around you and Chinese speaking anesthesiologists around the world. You are also encouraged to contact Dr. Ge Li via email at  gli3@hotmail.com  for the  reservations due to the limited seats.

Secondly, we suggest you stay in the downtown area if you can for a variety of reasons including safety, convenience, shopping, dinning, entertainment, and so on. You can check those hotels where ASA has deals with as the attachment file shows or look at the yahoo map at, where you can find out the hotels around the downtown area. The transportation between hotels and McCormick Center, where is the ASA meeting will be hold, will be provided by ASA. A lot of people booked their hotels around that area in the past and took the advantage of ASA transportation service. Certainly, it can be done again on your own desire since the middle of Oct in Chicago is just about right weather wise and walking a block or two would not be a problem. A couple of hotels, we recommend because they are inexpensive but reasonable quality, short walking distance to ASA hotels, and people experienced, include Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott, Holiday Inn Chicago-City Centre, Radisson Hotel & Suites Chicago, Cass Hotel, Club Quarters, Wacker at Michigan (75 E Wacker Dr, Phone:312-357-6400,small room, one bed per room). Dr. Hu personally had a great experience with Residence Inn by Marriott somewhere else with a big family but he does not know about the one in Downtown Chicago. Let us know if you have any questions about your accommodation.
We do have some ideas about the places for fun including dinner cruise, restaurants, Millennium Park, museums, and something about our Chinatown here, etc. We are working on those details and will give to you shortly.
You are welcome to ask questions from now on. We will do our best to provide you useful information.
Looking forward to having the second message soon.

Sincerely

Ling Qun Hu, MD and Ge Li, MD, PhD
